Hello

About Me

If I could tell the story in words I wouldn’t have to lug around a camera.

This quote really resonated with me because, well, I have a love/hate relationship with words. I love reading the beautiful words that other people write, but hate writing out my thoughts myself. Writing this About Me page was a serious struggle. Like an anxiety-inducing, took-an-embarrassing-amount-of-time-to-finally-type-my-first-word sort of struggle. I find it so difficult to transfer the thoughts and words in my head onto the page, but behind the safety of my camera, I have a much easier time finding my voice.

My love affair with photography began when we started having kids and, with it, a desire to document our family’s story. These years with our little ones fly by and, to me, photography is this incredible way to freeze that moment and capture our families as they are. When I look back at the images from my family’s  “ordinary” moments, I am transported back to that time – I can feel how small my daughter felt in my arms and I can hear my son’s infectious laughter– and, to me, that is magic.

Through photography, I strive to preserve those magical, ordinary moments and document the real human connection and emotion that exists when we are with our families and loved ones. Life is constantly moving and changing and I hope my photography is a way to stop and take it all in.

What part of your family’s story do you want to preserve?
